Brenda Nieto is a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company and the National Ballet of Mexico. An injury suffered while dancing led Brenda to the transformative, healing practice of Gyrotonic® exercise, and she has been a certified instructor of Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® since 2007. She loves helping clients embrace their bodies with grace and find their full potential at every stage of life.

Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, she began her dance education at the University of Guanajuato, performing with Foro Libre Contemporary Dance and the university's Ballet Folklórico. At 18, Brenda was invited to teach dance to children at a family development program in Guanajuato, and discovered her love of choreography. 

She continued her dance studies at the School of Ballet Nacional de Mexico, with an award from the Mexican National Endowment for Culture and Arts FONCA, and she received a Coca-Cola scholarship for artistic excellence to study at the Martha Graham School in New York City. In New York, she was also a member of the Dzul Dance Company and Nina Buisson Contemporary Move.

Brenda taught dance at the University of South Carolina and at the Lovett School fine arts program in Atlanta. In 2013, she moved to Los Angeles and collaborated on the art installation “TA-RA,” created by Stella Hopkins, with dancers from Pepperdine University.

She has completed certifications in all of the Gyrotonic® specialized equipment, and has continued to study with Master Trainers Juergen Bamberger, Leda Franklin, Miriam Barbosa, Kathy Van Patten, Mariarosa Guglielmi and Billy Macagnone. 

In 2022, Brenda became a U.S. citizen, a long-held aspiration. She believes that we all can achieve much more than we think we can, if we trust in our unique journey. In her free time, she loves exploring beautiful Los Angeles with her two rescue dogs, Rumi and Mia.
